Cell Phone Rule
· All students will be turning in phones in a designated area - classrooms will have pocket charts (numbered) for students to place cell phones.
· The new rule includes cell phones, Ipods, speakers, gaming devices, headphones and earbuds. (Excluding school devices assigned to students)
The decision not to permit electronic devices in classrooms at TECS is not only to help students concentrate in the classroom, but also to help reduce distractions during the day.
Students will be allowed to use cell phone during passing periods and lunch. Because we want everyone to respect our desire for an electronic-device-free classroom, there will be no warnings. If students use their device in a classroom, they will be confiscated and the device will be sent to the office and locked up.
As we move towards full implementation, teachers may begin enforcing the new Cell Phone rule as early as this week in preparation for full implementation.
