GENERAL SUPERVISOR: Director or designee

JOB GOAL: To coordinate all Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for Tierra Encantada Charter School. Coordinate, monitor, implement, supervise, and assess assigned state and federal instructional programs (e.g., REC/IDEA B Entitlement/Discretionary, Child Find, Section 504, Save the Children, and IDEA-B Grants)

Performance Responsibilities

1. Program Administration & Compliance

Comply with all applicable rules and regulations, develop a Special Education Manual, and ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

2. IEP & Meeting Facilitation

Schedule educational, appraisal, and review committee meetings for regular, new, and emergency IEP meetings, or meetings to modify existing IEPs.
Attend all initial and 3-year re-evaluation IEP Meetings.
Implement and supervise Full Inclusion Programs to obtain the ⁠Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) per the IDEA-B application.
Serve as a designee to the Director on student discipline and/or as a facilitator regarding long-term suspension or expulsion.

3. Staff Collaboration & Development

Meet regularly with Diagnosticians, Therapists, and contractors for ancillary services.
Meet with regular education staff, administrators, and other staff regarding program implementation and student services, providing training if necessary.
Open lines of communication with staff and administration to address programmatic concerns.
Schedule Staff Development/Training Sessions for professional growth or as needs arise.

4. Data Management & State Reporting

Review and compile pupil membership accounting information relevant to the school district, inclusive of 40th, 80th, 120th, December 1st, and End of Year Reporting days via the STARS Manual/Accountability Data System.
Prepare and compile data required by the New Mexico Public Education Department.
Compile operational statistics and gather data that the Director may require (e.g., Public School Capital Improvement Application, Grant Writing specific to SPED) with the assistance of principals.

5. General Leadership & Operations

Assist in interpreting personnel policies, regulations, and other policies.
Report regularly to the Director regarding on-going status updates, developments, or problems within the charter school that require awareness or action.
Attend Governance Council meetings as requested by the Director.
Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as the Director may from time to time assign or delegate.

TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Term of Employment will be established by the School’s Governance Council on an annual basis, through the adoption of the school calendar.

SALARY: Salary to be established by School’s Governance Council on an annual basis through the adoption of the salary.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School’s Governance adopted policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
