Job Summary:
Tierra Encantada Charter School is seeking a dedicated and innovative Math Teacher to join our vibrant learning community. The ideal candidate will possess a Secondary Teaching License with a Math Endorsement and a preferred Bilingual Endorsement. The Math Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging math instruction to students in middle or high school, fostering critical thinking skills, and promoting a positive learning environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for mathematics education, cultural competence, and a commitment to meeting the diverse needs of our student population.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive math curriculum aligned with state standards and charter school goals.
2. Create dynamic and interactive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles, interests, and abilities.
3. Utilize technology, manipulatives, and real-world applications to enhance student understanding of mathematical concepts.
4. Assess student learning through a variety of formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to support growth and
achievement.
5. Differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of students, including English Language Learners and students with diverse cultural
backgrounds.
6. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
7. Collaborate with colleagues to integrate math instruction across disciplines and promote interdisciplinary connections.
8. Communicate effectively with students, families, and stakeholders regarding student progress, academic goals, and opportunities for
enrichment.
9. Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in math education and culturally responsive
teaching.
10. Uphold the mission, vision, and values of Tierra Encantada Charter School, promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of
teaching and learning.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Education, Mathematics, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
2. Valid Secondary Teaching License with a Math Endorsement.
3. Preferred Bilingual Endorsement
4. Experience teaching math at the middle or high school level.
5. Strong knowledge of math content and pedagogy, including current instructional strategies and assessment practices.
6. Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
7. Cultural competence and a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
8. Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and foster academic growth.
9. Dedication to ongoing professional growth and reflection.
10. Passion for working with students and families to support student success.
