Dear Families,

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!  Our staff is looking forward to working together with your family to ensure your student has an incredibly successful year.  Our teachers are ready to launch an incredible experience for your child: to be sure you are prepared, talk as a family about what you can do to ensure that all our students attend school every day, on time and ready to learn. Success at Tierra Encantada Charter School is a team effort, and when we all work together we can expect excellence of ourselves and our students. 

You may have noticed changes in our school calendar and schedules!  Our team has worked very hard to uphold and promote engaged and rigorous learning.  Our schedule this year will include:

• 90 Minute instructional blocks throughout core content areas and allow students to complete core requirements sooner and receive rigorous instruction.
• The addition of more electives and learning labs in math, language arts and language development.
• 6-week grading periods to provide students and parent to provide frequent checks for growth and progress – report cards will now go out every six weeks.

We would also like to introduce and welcome our new principal, Angela Esquibel-Martinez as she leads instructional coaching and support for all staff and students!
