PACMAN GAME in Google Classroom

PACMAN GAME

For you to understand what we are doing you should play this game first for you to understand the general idea and have an overview of the game. For that, go to EXPLORE at SCRATCH.COM and make research: PACMAN

https://scratch.mit.edu/search/projects?q=pacman

You will see a lot of games with the same idea. A good example of that is this one:

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/97137611/

Play a few times for you to get used to the game! Have some fun! =)

After you understand the general idea you will see variation for this game with other themes, like a mix between MARIO KART and PACMAN:

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/292408349/

PAY ATTENTION: this game above changes the themes/images/sprites but the game idea keeps the same, which means you can create your own theme! =)

For example, you play with frogs, eating flies (give you points), fruits can give you extra points and your enemy are bats.

More two examples from TECS' students:

- https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/521363485

- https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/521361985

If you lose any explanation/directions on any day, or you need to remember something, I am posting here step by step how to make this game.

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/105113337/

The game that I have made together with you:

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/528298504/

Things that you must do:

1) FOUR enemies moving around the maze;
2) POINTS when you get some object that you will choose;
3) Lose lives when your enemy touch you;
4) Finish the game when you lost all lives;
5) finish the game when you get all possibles points

Things you can not do:

1) your character moves through the wall;

PS.1: These are examples of what you need to do. To figure out what you need to do you need "SEE INSIDE" the game.

PS.2: You can copy things from the examples, but DO NOT COPY things that you do not know what is or how that works! If make this kind of copy  I WILL NOT ACCEPT YOUR GAME, even if your game is working! I am not teaching you how to copy things, I am teaching you how to create things. Copy things are just to accelerate the process after you have already understood what you are doing. So, you can copy the maze, you can copy images, you can copy any sprites, but do not copy codes that you do not understand!

PS.3: Do not hesitate to ask me for help. If you need/want to invite to the breakout room, I will be glad to help you.

BALL BOUNCE GAME in Google Classroom

BALL BOUNCE GAME

SCRATCH - ACTIVITY

For this activity you should create a game called BALL BOUNCE GAME with these characteristics:

- Create a sprite to be a platform to bounce the ball, and create a code to move this sprite with the arrows on your keyboard or your mouse/touchpad;
- Create another sprite ( a ball), that will bounce on the platform for a random position;
- All the times the ball touch the platform, the score should change;
- When the ball touches the bottom, the game must end.

If you lose my instructions, you can get many examples on the scratch website.

On the main page go to EXPLORE - GAME and type on the search BALL BOUNCE GAME. Note that many games are not complete or have errors, you should look for the idea inside and collect the right parts, or find a good game working completely.

I AWARE OF WHAT I NEED TO DO TO IMPROVE MY GRADE! in Google Classroom

I AWARE OF WHAT I NEED TO DO TO IMPROVE MY GRADE!

Hi Guys, after I have explained many times what you need to do to improve your grades, many of you keep asking the same question by email, like if I never said anything about that before.

So, I would like to you just read the text below, copy it, and past it on the classwork to turned in. Exactly as we did inside of class.

====================
I am aware of what I need to do to improve my grade!

I have understood the explanation of Mr. K about how can I improve my grade inside of class; I just need to do the daily activities that I did not in the past. When I get on track again (with all activities done), next Monday Mr. K will upgrade my grade to 100%.

If I choose to do CODE.ORG I have to finish all 28 lessons (and all activities inside), plus the assignment on SCRATCH.

If I am doing Khan Academy I must complete 12 hours (720 min) up to Wednesday MAR/31th to get a full grade.

In the future, If I lost some activity or daily work I just need to read on google classroom stream to know what I need to do to improve my grade.

Is there anything that I can do differently, as a teacher, to help your student?

PAY ATTENTION on these points:

1) Your guardian can write in English or Spanish;

2) This activity will impact your grades a lot! So, ask for your guardian's answer as soon as possible.
